チュニジア政府がサマドバイの250億ドル地中海門計画を承認。
With infrastructure work progressing on fast track since December 2007, Mediterranean Gate is scheduled for completion in 14 phases. The landmark development is anticipated to generate a plethora of employment opportunities, including direct and indirect jobs during the construction phase and over 350,000 when completed. The project is also expected to attract a daily footfall of 100,000, leading to further economic opportunities and growth in tourism and its allied sectors.
インフラ整備は2007年12月より進んでおり、開発工程は14のフェーズ。工事フェースでは35万人の雇用が見込まれる。毎日10万人が訪れる街となる。

Located on Republic Avenue (Z4 Road) at Saint Gobain, the Marketing and Sales centre will provide potential investors with a preview of the landmark development, allowing them to gauge first-hand the magnitude of the project that is expected to infuse fresh economic opportunities and facilitate the growth of Tunisia’s tourism and allied sectors. The centre will remain open from 3.00pm-8.00pm daily.

チュニスはMediterranan Gate,Tunis Sports City,Tunis Financial Portとビッグプロジェクトが目白押しなのだが、35万人、８千人、１万６千人という雇用はどのようなものになるのか？ドバイでは人口の８割が外国人労働者で劣悪な労働環境を強いられているというが、チュニジアでは今までヨーロッパへ出稼ぎに行っていたチュニジア人や失業者で満たせるのか、あるいはインドや東南アジア、他のアフリカ諸国から大量の労働者が押し寄せてくるのだろうか？
